| Hello Neon Cross! New to the forums but not new to the band. I've been a fan a while, it just took some time for me to come out of hidding. Sure wish things were different and you guys could treck out to the east(Ohio). Oh well the live recordings will have to suffice. Speaking of... I was watching the dvd Metal Mardi Gras 87 and was wondering if you guys had a story or two about the event. As far as I know this was christian metals first ever event of its kind. Just wished I was on the west coast to enjoy this stuff in the flesh. Take care. ---James | |

| welcome james.... I was there at the Metal Mardi Gras and was a brand new Christian at the time...my story is this... God can use anything for His glory and this was the begining of a honest to goodness "revival"...believe it or not. It is too bad that the dvd doesn't cover the entire event but I can understand why...alot of good stuff on it. Anyways...take care | |

| As long as this DVD has come up, I've long wondered if any of the bands involved could release their entire show? I'd love to see those Neon Cross, Bloodgood and Barren Cross shows in their entirety. | |

| My personal favorite performance was by Bloodgood that day. NC ,BC and Guardian were also very intense. "Son Of God" made a real impact on my understanding of who Christ was... BC rocked and Tony Palacios blew me away with his playing. A good thing for a new believer and musician to experience. I had a revelation about what a ministry is and what it can do. really really kewl | |

| Hey Mr. Jim, sorry it's taken so long to respond. We generally try to hit the forum at least once a day...anyway, welcome.
The MMG, yeah that was one crazy day. In more ways than one.
As for the question about anyone getting their entire set to video, to make a very long story short, mixing the different audio and camara angles turned out to be a bigger challenge that originally thought and so each band got to pick a couple of songs and those were the songs that got mixed.
Where the raw material ended up is anybody's guess, but even if we could get our hands on it chances are it wouldn't be worth the money to pursue that project.
One of the funnier Neon Cross stories of the MMG was that because we came backstage to eat late our offical MMG jackets had been given away to the road crew!
We were all hanging out with the crowd, watching the other bands and checking out the vender booths and stuff, instead of hanging out with the rockstars backstage, so when they started passing out the jackets we weren't around.
Apparently no one realized and when they ended up with "extra" jackets they decided to give them to the roadies! They were able to dig up a few more jackets from the reject pile, but ya know, not quite the same.
Most of you guys don't need to be told this, but back in the stoneage before cell phones you always wanted to becareful not to miss any scheduled event for just this sorta reason. | |

| Maybe one of the crew guys will clean out a closet and put one of those jackets on ebay. Probably one of those early 80's satin type jackets that were all the rave amongst roller skaters across the country back in the day. Dave, according to your post and a few others might I suggest that for C-Stone Cali that you show up a day early. just bustin yer chops. You guys are sorely missed by us malcontents out here in the east. Hope all goes well and maybe you could enlist some one to take some pics of the event to post up on the site. James | |
