PostSubject: Modern Worship   Wed Aug 08, 2007 6:47 pm

Starting with the Jesus People movement of the 70's there has been a revitalization of worship where more and more people are composing new songs with new sounds that express the longing of our hearts in this time.
While some songs remain forever classic, relevant, alive...more and more songs I hear on the radio (just that this music is being played on the radio is a miracle!) touch me and move me. They bring my heart into the right frame of mind for communion with God.

What songs have blessed your heart lately and what do you perfer, the more traditional worship found exclusively in church or the "open" worship of artist like Sonic Flood?

Right now for me, its the more newer open stuff. I like the freshness of the sound and the song are more up todate with my style of music.

Check out this myspace for the worship band that 3/4 of NEON CROSS plays in. Our worship Leader (Robin) loves Jesus and her heart is of worship. We are honored to have her as our worship leader.

These songs were recorded in my home studio for the purpose of showing the style of worship at our church.

Let me know what you think

I dig all of the modern worship. I am actually sneeking in distortion at church! Paul Baloche is very good as is Matt Redman. On a side note, Jim LaVerde is in the studio working on a new Sanctuary Praise album. Should be done by Cornerstone.

Oddly enough, though I lead worship and write worship tunes, and the band does worship up in L.A. at their church, we have never done the worship thing together. Go figure?
Of course there are the metal worship songs we have done together.
